Selling to Ghana: partner checks, certification and regulators

This page collects what an exporter needs before a first sale to Ghana: how to check a Ghanaian company, the conformity check many goods need before shipment, and the regulators whose rules may apply.

Public procurement

We do not list public tenders in Ghana. GHANEPS, Ghana's electronic procurement portal, publishes awarded government contracts with supplier names; our guide How to check a Ghanaian company before you ship, linked below, explains how to search them.

How to check a partner

A Ghanaian company is registered with the Office of the Registrar of Companies. A register search costs money, and the name check does not prove who stands behind a company. Confirm that the name and registration number match your contract and that the person you deal with can act for the company.

Fees and procedures change, so confirm the amount on the registry's own page before you pay.

Steps and limits of the ORC search are in How to check a Ghanaian company before you ship. Compare the registries of all six countries in Company registry fees in six African countries.

Certification and customs

Many product categories shipped to Ghana must pass a pre-export verification of conformity before they leave the country of origin. Since 1 July 2026 the programme, called EASYPASS, has been run directly by the Ghana Standards Authority; until then Bureau Veritas operated it on the Authority's behalf (Bureau Veritas). Food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals are regulated separately by the Food and Drugs Authority. Routes and fees are in the guide linked below, with the sources it cites.
